Role Overview
Ethniki Asfalistiki is seeking a Data and AI Governance Officer who will be responsible for supporting and enforcing the organization’s Data and AI Management framework, ensuring that data and AI assets are managed with high standards of quality, transparency, compliance, and operational integrity.
The role contributes to the development and implementation of enterprise data management practices, governance policies, and AI governance controls. It ensures that data and AI processes align with regulatory requirements, internal governance standards, and business objectives.
Working closely with Data & AI management roles, governance analysts, data stewards, IT teams, and business stakeholders, the Data and AI Governance Officer support the operationalization of governance processes, the management of data governance tools, and the monitoring of key governance and data quality indicators across the organization.
Main Responsibilities
- Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of the Data and AI Governance framework, ensuring alignment with business needs and enterprise strategy.
- Support implementation of governance policies, standards, and processes to ensure trusted, transparent, and compliant use of data and AI.
- Administer and maintain the Enterprise Data Catalogue and governance tools, supporting metadata management and data discoverability.
- Manage governance platforms, including user access, metadata models, classification schemes, and security controls.
- Monitor data quality and governance KPIs/KQIs, supporting data profiling, issue identification, escalation, and resolution.
- Contribute to defining and maintaining governance metadata, including data quality indicators and metrics.
- Support compliance with regulatory frameworks (e.g., EU AI Act, DORA) and implementation of AI governance controls ensuring transparency and accountability.
- Maintain governance processes, procedures, and documentation, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
- Drive continuous improvement of data management and governance practices across the organization.
- Collaborate with governance teams and business stakeholders to promote adoption, provide training, and support the application of governance standards.
Candidate Job Profile
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, Business Analytics, or a related field.
- 5+ years of professional experience in data governance, AI governance, data management, metadata management, or enterprise data environments.
- Strong understanding of Data & AI Governance principles and enterprise data management frameworks.
- Experience with data governance and metadata tools (e.g., Collibra, Informatica, IBM) and administration of data catalogues and governance platforms.
- Knowledge of data quality monitoring processes, KQIs, data lineage, metadata management, and governance structures.
- Familiarity with regulatory frameworks (EU AI Act, DORA, GDPR) and AI governance, including responsible AI and model governance practices.
- Exposure to AI governance certifications or training is considered an advantage.
- Ability to collaborate with Compliance, Legal, Procurement, and DPO to ensure regulatory alignment across data and AI lifecycle (procurement, deployment, monitoring).
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills, with attention to detail and ability to support stakeholders in applying governance standards.
- Excellent command of Greek and English (written and spoken).
- No pending military obligations (for Greek male citizens).
